Why I want to be a teacher

I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was in Kindergarten because I had the best teacher ever! She was kind and fun! She made learning fun! I had other great teachers when I was in Elementary school as well who inspired me to be a teacher because of their kindness and enthusiasm for teaching. I loved my Elementary school years. I have often said those were some of the best years of my life. You may think that is funny but it's true!
I also enjoy working with elementary school age children. They are so much fun and full of energy. They make me laugh with their funny comments and their honesty. I want to be the teacher that makes a difference in my students lives by encouraging them to reach for the stars and go the distance because I believe that all children have the ability to reach their full potential and accomplish hard things. All they need is a desire motivation and encouragement to achieve these things in life. Learning will be hands on and fun! I believe that children should be actively involved in their learning not just sitting in chairs listening to their teachers teach. I find that children learn best through movement. For example playing a math games or spelling games that cause them to move around the room while they are learning.
My classroom will be a shared classroom where my students will be involved in making class rules and decisions. We will work together as a class to create a safe and fun learning environment. I can't wait to graduate with my degree in Elementary Education and start teaching!
